take my poodle in to have ears cleaned and nails cut... ladies in there are so nice.. all the workers are and helpful too.

They never give correct information about animals!!! I went there to get a ball python and had them set me up with everything and they gave me the wrong stuff. They tried to sell me wood shavings for a ball python. Yes, you can use shavings for snakes, but for dry snakes. Ball pythons are high humidity and either need a bark or the artificial grass, not shavings. Ooops!

My wife and I have two miniature Schnauzer's. We detoured from our normal groomer for convenience purposes, and decided to try PetSmart. Bad idea! They completely butchered our dogs! These people have no idea what they're doing! If you love your dog(s), don't go here (or Petco)! They don't care about your dog(s), treat them all the same, and run them through like an assembly line! I highly recommend Kathy's Grooming in High Point! They truly love dogs and take good care of them. We've been going there for years. They saw what PetSmart did (and fixed it.) Kathy told us she only hires professional dog groomers. PetSmart and Petco DON'T, they train them there. She said she doesn't hire anyone from PetSmart or Petco. We will never leave our dogs in the hands of a commercialized unprofessional dog groomer again!!!
Three Strikes, You're Out!

We will not be going back to Pet Smart Grooming -- Banfield Pet Hospital in Pet Smart is wonderful, but the Pet Smart Grooming place does not at all impress us! The first time, they had no idea how a cocker spaniel could be groomed if they didn't leave the skirt on, so we had to go out in the hallway of the store section and find a suitable picture in one of the cocker spaniel books, at which time they acted as if they never groomed a cocker spaniel that way but that they would try (even though 90% of the cocker spaniels in the books look that way). Well, they tried and he looked o.k., but the top of his head looked very much like a peacock, and although we paid to have his nails trimmed they were definitely not trimmed (Strike 1). The next time we were desperate for a same day appointment, so we gave them a second chance and he came home looking awful -- his legs had uneven patches, they did almost nothing with the top of his head (already shaggy from last appointment) , and the red from his collar bled onto his fur and did not come off until his next grooming -- even with several baths in between. The place was also loud and filled with the sound of shreiking dogs unlike other grooming places I've frequented (strike 2). The third time, again another desperate attempt at a same-day appointment, they called us five minutes after we dropped him off and said they couldn't groom him that day because he snapped at one of their groomers. I don't want them to jeopardize anyone's safety, but I can't imagine that they can send every snapping dog home -- esp. when he NEVER has snapped before. When our story was told to someone else, they said that Pet Smart has been known to send dogs home half groomed after a nip yet they muzzle other dogs -- how inconsistent (strike 3 -- you're out!!!). Anyway, it was all a blessing because it led us to Amanda's Pet Grooming (on Lindbergh -- Hwy 67) that very same day, and Amanda is now our dog's new best friend and we love her too! She's super knowledgeable about pets and genuinely loves animals. She even got down on the floor and played with our dog before grooming him; she said he was no problem.... I totally recommend Amanda's Pet Grooming. We will definitely be a regular at Amanda's Pet Grooming and I can guarantee that WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING TO PET SMART GROOMING!!!
